Essential oils can be SO helpful during the Summer months! So many of our beloved summer products contain so much toxic chemicals and synthetic fragrances. When you make your own with doTERRA's pure essential oils, you know that you and your family will be using the highest quality ingredients.
I love sharing all my recipes and ideas that I have personally used and still use on myself and my family. In this particular article I want to share what I consider essential recipes for Summer.
My favorite summer essential oil recipes
Cool Down Blend: Peppermint essential oil is wonderful to help bring down your body temperature. It literally cools you. So if you or your child have a high body temperature, you can use this cool down spray to help! Just add about 20-30 drops of Peppermint in a 2 oz spray bottle and fill the rest up with water. Spray on your neck, chest back, etc. Its so nice in those hot summer months or even when you child has a fever.
Seasonal Relief: When those seasonal threats are high and you are totally feeling those allergies-this is a great blend to try. Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint together are wonderful anti-histamines, decongestant and help open your airways. You can take these three internally with a veggie capsule or shot of water. You can rub them topically on the bottoms of your feet, or doTERRA makes a premade soft gel called TriEase where these 3 powerhouse oils are already combined and convenient.
Insect Repellant: Terrashield is our repellant blend. I think I especially love this blend because I am always one to be attacked by bugs. I've always hated the idea of spraying chemicals all over my body and my kids so its very important to me that this is pure ingredients found in nature and really effective at repelling bugs.
Swimmers Ear: Teatree oils is such a hero. I call it the oil for every gross (haha) meaning anything you would consider "gross" Teatree will probably help with; Ear discomfort, face blemishes, cold sores, canker sores, athletes foot, mold. toenail fungus, etc. Its very strong with anti fungal properties. So if you you get swimmers ear, just rub a drop behind the ear bone 2-3 times a day. NOT IN THE EAR CANAL.
Skin Soother: Lavender is pretty well known to be calming. Its not only calming to our minds but to our skin as well. So any sort of irritants like bug bites, burns, owies, scrapes, stings. Lavender is very soothing.
After Sun Care: Like the aforementioned, Lavender is great for skin irritants so if you get a little too much sun, I love combining Peppermint, Frankincense and Lavender with Aloe Vera. It feels sooooo good!
