My best tips and tricks to manage your garden and yourself naturally this season!
Did you know that its SOOOO easy (and cheap!) to have a natural garden? Have you every used Certified Pure Tested Grade essential oils with your plants? Essential oils are powerful garden tools that can be used daily to help promote the health and vitality of yourself and your garden. Because they are safe and effective, essential oils provide a great alternative to garden chemicals. In the short presentation below, you will learn how to use essential oils to protect you and your plants against environmental threats and to promote the health of your garden. But keep reading on because I have WAY more tips than this video that doTERRA made.
I do a natural garden every year and its so fun! Plus I love having my girls help me and I don't have to worry about them being around chemicals or anything harmful to their bodies. How amazing to just grab a fruit or vegetable right off the plant and you can eat it right there without having to worry!
I have even done presentations for all kinds of local gardening clubs and everyone always loves the info! I like to include natural options for us as the gardener as well as our plants! And there are so many cool recipes and effective things you can do to have a natural garden. So let's jump in!
Lets talk about why essential oils are so effective for pest control. To cover that we need to first talk about what an essential oil is. Essential oils are the aromatic parts of a plant (smelly parts). If a plant gets sick or a fungus for example, it uses its essential oils to help nurse it back to health. Also as you the gardener knows, different plants emit different smells. Some smells attract certain bugs and pollinators or creatures that are beneficial for the plant. Some smells ward off certain predators or animals/bugs that are harmful for the plant. Think about Marigolds. They are used often in gardening because the smells the plant produces (the essential oils) often ward off rabbits, nematodes, etc. That same smell attracts bees and pollinators. So Marigolds are great to have all around your garden!
So its the same thing! With essential oils, its like taking that smelly part of the plant and bottling it up and you can use it all around the garden instead of actual plants (or in addition to!).
As an overall great bug repellant-doTERRA actually created a blend called TerraShield (pictured above) that works really well for people, animals and plants. It comes in an oil and a convenient spray bottle. The key ingredients are:
- Ylang Ylang
- Tamanu Seed
- Nootka Wood
- Lemon Eucalyptus
- Vanilla Bean Absolute
- Fractionated Coconut Oil
The Magic of DDR Prime Oil
DDR Prime Essential Oil Cellular Complex is a proprietary blend of essential oils that supports healthy cellular integrity.* Protective against oxidative stress, Clove, Thyme, Litsea, and Wild Orange are prominent components of DDR Prime and provide powerful antioxidants. The Cellular Complex blend also includes essential oils from Frankincense, Lemongrass, Summer Savory, and Niaouli, which help support a healthy immune response. Look what it did to my zucchini plant! I had left on a work trip and my fiance was supposed to water it for me (ummm my mistake lol) and when I came home, it was literally on its last limb. I totally thought it was a goner. What I ended up doing was taking about 20 drops of DDR Prime oil into a half gallon of water and using that to water every other day. The results speak for themselves in the above photos. Not only did it grow back even better than before, my zucchini were seriously enormous all season.
It worked even faster on my house plant! Another mistake made by me (letting my fiance in charge of watering all my plants when I'm traveling lol!) I came home to one of my favorite plants-almost dead. Yet again DDR prime to the rescue. So let me put this thought in your mind-if it does wonders like this for plants, can you imagine what its doing for our own bodies when we take it internally? I've seen some pretty incredible medical wonders happen with DDR Prime and that's all Ill say!

Cool me down spray: Peppermint oil by itself or I like to put it in a little water bottle and spray it on the back of my neck
Bug Repellant: Terrashield or any combination of my favorite bug repellant oils (Cedarwood, Lemon Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Arborvitae, etc)
